The 6th Annual Sea 2 Sky race this year introduces a 5K route along with the 10K Race and Walk. The race boasts an awesome route starting on the promenade in Newcastle (5K starts in Donard Forest) and includes a mix of road and track before heading up through the foothills of the Mournes. In the first half you will move off-road onto trails that climb gradually to the 5K mark where you will be rewarded by stunning views over Newcastle and beyond before descending to finish on Newcastle’s award winning promenade. (Only 40 minutes drive from Newry). Please note 5K and 10K distances are approximate and may vary slightly due to off road nature.

Event Information

Entry Fees
Enter online (before 11pm on Wednesday 12th July 2017) and for option of posting out race pack (before 11pm Wednesday 5th July 2017). 

All distances: £18 Early Bird offer until 11pm on 14/06/17 and £20 thereafter.

5K race - age 12 plus (Junior 12-17 years early bird rate of £12 and after 14th June £14)

10K race - age 15 plus (Junior 15-17 years early bird rate of £12 and after 14th June £14)

(Plus £3 if postal option chosen NI & £4 ROI).

Registration Confirmation
Confirmation of your race entry will be sent to you automatically via email from Njuko after your payment is made. If you choose the option to have your Race Pack posted out to you before the day then this should arrive with you no later than the Wednesday prior to race day. Otherwise your race number and chip timing will be given to you at Registration on the morning of the race.  Any Merchandise ordered at time of entry will be available for collection on Race Day at the Merchandise Desk in the Registration Marquee.  A Final Race Day Information email will be sent to all registered participants on Thursday 13th July 2017.

Terms & Conditions
By entering the race you will be bound by the event disclaimer which you agreed to at time of registration.  Refunds are not available once entry has been completed. Runners are permitted to transfer entry to a family member/friend if they email Born 2 Run Events with the details prior to the on-line entry closing date. Transfer of entry to another event is not available.  Should you wish to transfer to an alternative distance please advise by email (info@born2runevents.com) prior to on-line closing date (11pm Wednesday 12th July) as any transfer on race day will incur a charge of £3 for a new chip. Full Terms & Conditions are available to view at time of entry on the Njuko Registration website. 

Race Start Time

10K Walk: 6.30pm

5k Race: 7.30pm - PLEASE ALLOW 15 MINUTES FROM REGISTRATION TO WALK TO THE 5K START LINE WHICH IS IN DONARD FOREST. 

10K Race: 7.30pm

Event Registrations
Registration will take place at the Marquee on the promenade close to the Finish Line which is opposite O'Hare's Lounge Bars, Newcastle BT33 0SE where runners and walkers will collect their race packs at the following times:
Walkers:   Friday 14th July 2017:  5.00pm – 6.15pm

5K Race:   Friday 14th July 2017: 5.00pm - 7.00pm 

10K Race: Friday14th July 2017:  5.00pm - 7.15pm 

Parking
There is free parking in Donard Car Park (behind O’Hares Lounge Bars) which is closest to the Registration Marquee, at Causeway Road, car park beside Newcastle boating lake, and at Downs Road (Slieve Donard Hotel end of the promenade). We would encourage those taking part to car-share where possible.

Start/Finish Area
Both the 10K race and Walkers will start at the far end of the promenade opposite O’Hare’s Lounge and Bars. The 5K race starts in Donard Forest and the runners will be required to walk to the start line so should allow at least 15minutes from the Registration Marquee.  There will be Marshals and signs to guide the way.  This walk can be used as your warm up. There is a water station at the start of the 5K route should you require a drink before the race gets underway.  The 5K and the 10K race will be started in conjunction at 7.30pm sharp so please do not be late. 

Pets
Strictly no pets.

Water Stations
There will be 1 water station at approximately 5K on the 10K race route.  This water station is close to the start of the 5K race route.

Toilet Facilities
Toilet facilities are available in Donard Car Park, the Newry, Mourne & Down District Council Pavillion behind the public toilets (changing and showers also available here), and Port-a-loos close to the Registration Marquee.  Please do not use toilets in O'Hare's Lounge Bars before the race only after the race at the Post Race Refreshments.

Post Race Refreshments
Hydration station at finish line.  Complimentary Post Race Refreshments BBQ style will be served in O’Hares Lounge Bars (opposite Finish Line) from approximately 8.15pm and O’Hares Lounge Bars have entertainment on a Friday in the Summer Season for anyone who wishes to make a night of it. 

Prizegiving – 9.00pm Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male and Female Finishers in 5K and 10K and age category prizes for the 5K and 10K race. (Please note age category prizes will not be given out on the night of the race but notified within a few days following the race). 

Footwear
Running shoes are suitable for all the terrain of the 10K race including the forest paths however some may prefer trail shoes as the field section is quite muddy.
