The 8th Annual EXTERN DAMBUSTERS race will take place on Saturday 17th August 2019 at the Silent Valley Mountain Centre and is featured in the PURE RUNNING HALF MARATHON SERIES.
We are delighted to have teamed up with Extern as our Charity Partners for this event. Each year Extern works alongside 18,000 children, young people, families, and individuals to empower them to change their lives.

There are three distances to choose from, the Half Marathon, 10K Race/Walk and 5K race.
The Silent Valley is located within the Mourne area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland. The Valley is surrounded by dramatic mountain panoramas and includes a reservoir built in the early 1900’s as well as the famous Mourne wall. (Only 30 minutes drive from Newry).

10K Race/Walk: £20 Early Bird offer until 11pm on 17/07/19 and £22 thereafter.
Half Marathon: £26 Early Bird offer until 11pm on 17/07/19 and £28 thereafter.
5K Race: £20 Early Bird offer until 11pm on 17/07/19 and £22 thereafter.
5K race - age 11 plus (Junior 11-17 years early bird rate of £13 and after 17th July £15)
10K race - age 15 plus (Junior 15-17 years early bird rate of £13 and after 17th July £15)

Confirmation of your race entry will be sent to you automatically via email from Primo Events after your payment is made. If you choose the option to have your Race Pack posted out to you before the day then this should arrive with you no later than the Wednesday prior to race day. Otherwise your race number and chip timing will be given to you at Registration on the morning of the race. Any Merchandise ordered at time of entry will be available for collection on Race Day at the Merchandise Desk in the Registration Marquee. A Final Race Day Information email will be sent to all registered participants on Thursday 15th August 2019, please check your junk mail in case it lands there.
Terms & Conditions
By entering the race you will be bound by the event disclaimer which you agreed to at time of registration. Refunds are not available once entry has been completed. You are however permitted to transfer your entry to a family member/friend by accessing the 'Manage my Registration' portal through the link at the bottom of your Primo Events receipt email. This link and the transfer option will only be available until 23:59 on 7th August 2019. (Transfer of entry to another event is not available). 10K Race: 12 noon
Registration packs can be collected on the day at The Education Centre in the grounds of The Silent Valley Park which is located a few minutes walk from the Car Park and will be clearly signposted.

Half Marathon: 9.00am – 10.15am
10K Walk: 9.00am - 11.00am
10K Race: 9.00am – 11.30am
5K Race: 9.00am - 10.45am
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE HALF MARATHON STARTS 3 MILES OUTSIDE THE SILENT VALLEY . RUNNERS WILL BE TRANSPORTED BY BUS TO THE START LINE AND ALL RUNNERS SHOULD BE ON THE BUS NO LATER THAN 10.20AM. THE BUS LEAVES FROM THE REGISTRATION AREA INSIDE THE SILENT VALLEY PARK
NI Water charge £4.50 per car as an entrance fee to the car park so please car share where possible to reduce your costs. We apologise for any inconvenience caused as this is out of our control.
Half Marathon starts 3 mile outside the Park and buses will transport runners to the start line. The10K Race and Walk and 5K start close to the Registration hall. Buses transport the Half Marathon runners from the Registration area to the start at 10.20am.
Strictly no pets.
For the Half Marathon runners there will be 3 water stations, the first at 3.5 miles, second at 6.5 miles and the third at 9.5 miles approximately and one water station for the 10K runners at approx 3m (turning point at dam).
Toilet facilities are available in the main car park toilet block and there is a second toilet block located on the Half Marathon course at approximately 9.5miles. There are no shower facilities.
Post Race Refreshments
Hydration station at finish line. Complimentary post race BBQ will be served beside the finish line from approximately 12.30pm.
Prizegiving – 1.15pm Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female Finishers.
Running shoes are suitable for all the terrain on the Half Marathon and 10K routes.
