Antrim Castle Gardens 5K & 10K is the 5th race in the Run Forest Run Series. Runners will find nothing like these 400 year old gardens anywhere else in Northern Ireland.
The race starts in the grounds of the gardens, the 10K route takes in the ruins of Shanes Castle (another Game of Thrones venue) where runners will enjoy some fantastic views of Lough Neagh and then returning through the immaculately kept gardens and wood at Castle Gardens. The 5K is mainly in the gardens with a small section on the Main Road.

Runners who complete 5 out of 6 races will receive a commemorative t-shirt (NEW DESIGN TBC). Runners who complete all 6 races will receive a bonus medal at the Race Finale in Castlewellan on Saturday 18th February 2023.
Online before 11pm on 18th January 2023 as ALL RACE PACKS WILL BE POSTED to participants. PLEASE NOTE AT TIME OF REGISTRATION YOU WILL NEED TO CHOOSE EITHER NI (£3) OR Rep of Ireland (£4) POSTAL OPTION.
5K & 10K RACE: £25

JUNIOR 5K RACE: £18 (junior rate applies to runners aged 11-17 years)

What are the start times for each race?
11.00am (The 5K will start shortly after the 10K race). Race start times subject to change dependant on current Government Covid Guidelines. The Start / finish area will be at the Parterre which is a short walk from the Registration room.
Can I register for the event on the day?
No, the Winter Series is online entry only, there will be a limited Registration service on Race Day and will be for the collection of merchandise purchased online and any race queries. Registration will be located in the building opposite the cafe in the grounds of Antrim Castle Gardens and will be clearly signposted on race day.
What time is the event registration?
Not applicable at this event as all Race Bibs will be posted prior to the event so runners will be ready to head straight to the start line. Your Race Bib should arrive with you no later than Wednesday 25th January 2023. If your pack has not arrived by this date please advise us by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can arrange a replacement.
When will I receive my registration confirmation?
Confirmation of your race entry will be sent to you automatically via email from Enthuse Events after your payment is made. All race packs will be posted out to participants on 19th January 2023. Any Merchandise ordered at time of entry will be available for collection on Race Day at the Merchandise Desk in the Registration Marquee. A Final Race Day Information email, which will include up to date social distances measures to ensure the safe running of the event, will be sent to all registered participants on Thursday 26th January 2023, please check your junk mail in case it lands there.
What are the parking facitities at this event?
There will be no parking facilities for runners at Antrim Castle Gardens so please use public car parks located at Antrim Marina (Lough Road) and walk along the tow path and over bridge to Antrim Castle Gardens. There are also car parks in Antrim Town Centre a short walk from the Gardens at: Dublin Road, Castle Street, Castle Way and Railway Street.
What time is the prizegiving?
Prize giving will be at 12 noon. 5K & 10K Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female Finishers. Category Prizes will only be awarded at the end of the Series to runners who completed 5 out of 6 races. Five quickest race results will be used to calculate winners.
What does my entry fee include?

Are pets allowed?
Sorry, no pets allowed.
Will there be water stations?
As this is a Winter race there will be no water station so please carry water with you if required.
Where are the toilets/shower facilities located?
Toilet facilities are available in the main courtyard behind Clotworthy House, the Garden Coffee Shop, Port a loos (positioned close to start line) and at the Lough Shore Car Park.
What footwear should I bring?
Regular running shoes are suitable for all the terrain on the 5K & 10K route.
Can I run with a buggie?
Due to the nature of this course, for health and safety purposes, it is not suitable for buggies.
